Milan, Italy — Springa Srl announced Goliath CNC, reportedly the first portable and autonomous robotic CNC tool, which will be available through online booking events starting this spring.

The booking event will give subscribers the opportunity to book Goliath CNC at a discounted price and receive it before the fall of 2021. A limited number of robots will be released, orders can be placed at http://goliathcnc.com, and the event will end as soon as all available units are booked.

Without a CNC frame, Goliath can be positioned directly on the workbench. It can be placed anywhere, and when the project is completed, it can be packed and taken away.

The key to its function is its patented radio frequency communication, which can update Goliath's position relative to the work area 100 times per second. This allows Goliath to know its position with an accuracy of 0.1 mm or 0.004 inches. This also allows correction in case of loss of wheel traction.

Goliath's omnidirectional three-mould wheel design ensures that the two rollers are always in contact with the panel. In doing so, Goliath's movement will not be affected by the already cut grooves or contours, because at least one roller is always in contact with the panel. Most dust and debris are simply pushed aside or rolled over.

Since the unique sensor system can be repositioned multiple times, there is virtually no working area limitation.

Goliath can handle new or downloaded designs. The user can monitor the work progress through the computer. The CNC router also has an integrated dust collection system.

After the Goliath device is delivered to the first batch of supporters to support the early crowdfunding campaign, the team will proceed to mass production. By the end of summer 2021, all supporters will receive their Goliath CNC system. Thanks to feedback from the first batch of supporters, the R&D team focused on fine-tuning Goliath's Slingshot software.
